Lithograph by H T de la Beche, titled; 'The Light of Science dispelling the Darknes which covered the World', showing the figure of a woman wearing an elaborate hat, standing in clouds, shining a gas lamp on the world. Taken from a collection of prints and books held at the Science Museum, London, documenting the early history of the gas industry.
