Description
The Constellation airliner was developed from a military transport aircraft which entered service in 1944. With its streamlined fuselage and triple tail-unit, it is considered one of the most graceful aircraft ever to fly. Various versions of this four-engined airliner were built to carry up to 65 pasengers at 260-300 mph over distances of 2000-3000 miles. This Constellation of Trans World Airlines (TWA) is pictured at the Science Museum's Wroughton airfield in Wiltshire.
