Description
Poster produced for the London & North Eastern Railway (LNER) to promote rail travel to the British Empire Exhibition of 1925, held at Wembley, London. The poster shows a stylised mask forming the word 'fun', surrounded by a freize of small pictures illustrating architectural features of the exhibition. Artwork by V Hicks and Charles 'Shep' Shepherd (b 1892). Charles Shepherd studied art under Paul Woodroffe and was head of the studio at the Baynard Pres. He designed posters for the Royal Mail Packet Steam Company and London Transport as well as SR.
