Poster produced for the London, Midland & Scottish Railway (LMS), showing a relief sculpture of a flying winged man, by the sculptor, Sir Bertram MacKennal (1863-1931). Born in Australia, MacKennal came in England to study the antique at the British Museum in 1883. He produced relief carvings for the Victoria State Houses of Parliament (1887), Australia and also worked on the Cenotaph in Sydney (completed 1929). He provided sculpture for London's Australia House and was the first Australian artist to be knighted. Dimensions: 1016 mm x 1270 mm.
