Description
Poster produced for the Great Central Railway (GCR) to promote rail services between Liverpool and the East Coast of England. The poster shows a map and timetable of services between Liverpool, Grimsby, York and Hull, from 13 July 1914. The Great Central Railway operated both trains and ships, with sailings from Grimsby to the ports of Northern Europe and rail routes from Grimsby to Manchester. The trains connected with ships sailing from the port of Liverpool to North America. The rail route from the East Coast of England to Liverpool proved a central one for European emigrants heading for America. Artwork by an unknown artist. Dimensions: 1016 mm x 1270 mm.
