Description
"Wall of posters advertising London, Midland & Scottish Railway holidays. Competition between the railway companies was very high and rail services and holidays were advertised at most stations. At this time the LMS had just been formed. Before 1923 there had been a large number of railway companies, but in 1923, all the railway companies amalgamated to form four larger companies, known as the ""Grouping"". After the grouping the companies ran more efficiently and made larger profits."
