Description
Tangmere steam locomotive with the 'Kent Coast Express', near Faversham. This British Railways Battle of Britain class 4-6-2 steam locomotive No 34067 (seen here bound for London's Victoria station) was built at the Southern Railway's Eastleigh Works in 1947 and still has the 'air smoothed' streamlined casing which had been removed from most other engines in this class by this time. The tender has been modified to make watering easier. Photograph by Pat Ransome Wallis.
