Description

Until recent centuries, plague was a constant fear amongst Europeans. This Christian amulet, comprising saintly pictures, metal pendants, seeds and wax seals folded within a printed Latin prayer script and folded into a rectangular packet, would have been carried as personal protection against the disease.
