Description
Garland (1922-1969) started performing as a young child. In 1939, aged 17, she starred in 'The Wizard of Oz'. Despite a successful Hollywood career, psychotropic drugs which she had originally been prescribed to control her weight, destroyed her mentally and physically. She died of a drugs overdose in a London hotel. Like their mother, her daughters Liza Minnelli (born 1946) and Lorna Luft (born 1953) are both actresses and singers.
