Passengers in a third class railway carriage, 1937. These passengers, a farmer and his family, were moving house. The contents of their house and farm were being transported by rail to their destination. It was common to use the railways when moving house. Furniture was loaded into a container and taken to a station to be transported by rail. A van then took the goods from the station at the other end to their final destination, providing a full door to door service.
