Inside York station, 23 March 1988. An Inter-City 125 with a powercar number 43116 is at platform 8a. The station is undergoing refurbishment and the layout changed. York station was rebuilt as a through station in the 1870s as the existing building, built in 1841 inside the city's walls, had proved to be too small.
