Press briefing on the progress of the Allied invasion of France. Daily briefings were held by Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Forces (SHaeF) for all Allied journalists. A general communique on the progress of the battles in Normandy was read out first by the Information Officer. More detailed briefings on the air, sea and land battles followed, with a chance for the journalists to ask questions. All information was, however, strictly controlled and censored.
