A photograph of boxer Len Harvey after winning the British light heavyweight title, taken by Edward Malindine for the Daily Herald newspaper on 1 December, 1938. Len Harvey (1907-1976) is regarded as one of the finest British boxers of all time. During his long career he was, at various times, British middle, light-heavy and heavyweight champion between 1929 and 1942. In this bout he beat reigning light heavyweight champion Eddie Phillips. This photograph has been selected from the Daily Herald Archive, a collection of over three million photographs.
