A photograph of children receiving sunray treatment at the Children's Health Centre in Putney, London, taken by Putnam for the Daily Herald newspaper on 20 November, 1936. Women support the children sitting in front of the sunlamps, as goggles protect their eyes. Ultraviolet light is mainly used to treat skin complaints. This photograph has been selected from the Daily Herald Archive, a collection of over three million photographs.
