A photograph of men altering bus route details in a London depot, taken by Tomlin for the Daily Herald newspaper on 27 September, 1934. The long rolls of destinations and numbers hanging in the background would be mounted on rollers and fitted into the front of a bus. These rolls could then be wound on by the driver to show the route he was taking. Route number 159, (seen bottom right) was the last 'Routemaster' bus to operate, being removed from operation on 9 December 2005.
