A photograph of a group of five women displaying milk churns, taken by James Jarche for the Daily Herald newspaper on 17 October, 1932. The 'dairymaids' were taking part in a Dairy Show held at Agricultural Hall, Islington, London. Agricultural Hall was built in the 1860s as a venue for the display of agricultural implements and produce. In 1986, the building was converted into the Busines Design Centre. This photograph has been selected from the Daily Herald Archive, a collection of over three million photographs. The archive holds work of international, national and local importance by both staff and agency photographers.
