A photograph of four stilt walkers en route to a rehearsal of Bertram Mills Circus in Slough, taken by Woodbine for the Daily Herald newspaper on 24 March, 1932. A crowd of children watch in amazement as the Sloans, a famous stilt-walking family, go by. Head of the family, Harry, was a record breaker for succesfully wearing the tallest stilts. This photograph has been selected from the Daily Herald Archive, a collection of over three million photographs. The archive holds work of international, national and local importance by both staff and agency photographers.
