A photograph of an interior scene during the filming of 'C.O.D.', taken by Tomlin for the Daily Herald newspaper on 20 January, 1932. 'C.O.D.' was a murder mystery feature film directed by Michael Powell (1905-1990), filmed at Westminster Films Ltd's studio at Walton-on-Thames. Powell, in one of his earliest directing ventures, is in the foreground, alongside the cameraman, Geoffrey Faithfull (1894-1979). Today, Michael Powell is recognised as a highly influential British director. This photograph has been selected from the Daily Herald Archive, a collection of over three million photographs. The archive holds work of international, national and local importance by both staff and agency photographers.
