A photograph of a woman worker in a Scottish factory making electrical cable, taken by an unknown photographer for the Daily Herald newspaper on 22 March, 1933. The operator uses her braiding machine to weave all the small metal fibres together to produce the large cables visible on the drums in the background. This photograph has been selected from the Daily Herald Archive, a collection of over three million photographs. The archive holds work of international, national and local importance by both staff and agency photographers.
