Lithograph showing a locomotive travelling on Shakespeare's Viaduct towards the eastern entrance of Shakespeare's Tunnel on the Dover Railway. Named Shakespeare's Cliff after its asociations with William Shakespeare's play 'King Lear', the chalk cliff was formerly known as 'Hay Cliff' and now incorporates the Channel Tunnel, which runs from Kent to Calais, France.
