Description
Lithograph by W Richardson of the Chepstow Bridge designed by IK Brunel as part of the South Wales Railway. The Chepstow Railway Bridge erected over the River Wye, was designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel (1806-1859) for the South Wales Railway. Brunel was an English inventor and civil engineer who designed many bridges and viaducts, including the Royal Albert Bridge at Saltash and the Clifton Suspension Bridge at Bristol. The Chepstow Railway Bridge was opened in 1852 and replaced in 1962.
