Description
Photograph of a 7 inch refracting telescope on an equatorial mounting built by Thomas Cooke and Sons Limited of York, England in 1921. This instrument was intended for use in a permanent observatory building has an integral a weight driven clockwork drive. Fitted with a Taylor type objective lens, for photography, it is shown with a photographic plate holder in place. By reversing the main objective lens the telescope could be used for visual observations.
