Description
Stipple engraving by William Hincks showing the manufacture of linen. A man is spinning flax at the back of the room, while in the foreground a man is operating a machine to wind the skeins of linen thread on to a large wooden frame. On the left of the picture a man is weaving the threads into linen cloth.
