Description
Tinted lithograph by Newman & Co, London, showing a view of the port of Swansea in South Wales. The development of metallurgical industries, particularly copper smelting led to the growth of Swansea into one of the busiest ports in the world in the 19th century. Copper, iron ore and coal from the abundant coalfields of south Wales were exported around the world from Swansea.
