Description
This book was owned by William Scamp, who was 12 and a half when he completed it in 1814. On this page can be seen the 'Rule of Three', or simple proportion, being taught using rhyme. The poem is about drinking in a pub and running up a large bill. The rest of the book covers the usual elementary mathematics curriculum of the time and includes trigonometry and some astronomy.
