These tests, designed by Hermann Rorschach (1884-1922), are from a book published by Hans Huber of Bern, Switzerland. A psychological projective test, the Rorschach test is used to ases an individual's personality by asking a subject to describe what he or she sees in ten bilaterally symmetrical inkblots. These tests are believed to be capable of revealing unconscious wishes, complexes and conflicts, although critics argue that test results are just as likely be influenced by current mood and recent events.
