Description
Photograph taken from an album of images compiled by Charles Stewart Rolls (1877-1910), English motorist, motor car manufacturer and aviator. Rolls was a keen driver who was well known in the car world, having taken part in many of the early motor races. In 1906 he founded Rolls-Royce Ltd with Sir Frederick Henry Royce (1863-1933), creating one of the world's most famous motoring companies. Prior to the establishment of the company, Rolls had a succesful busines asembling and selling imported French cars in London.
