'Each sound has its own pitch or note. The shape of the sound wave changes with the lengths of the bamboo. Traditional Chinese music is based on a sequence of five notes but western pop and clasical music is based on an eight note scale and Indian music often uses a twenty-two note scale.' A display from a touring interactive exhibition on the science of sound, designed and fabricated by the Science Museum's Interactive Development Unit for the British Council in Hong Kong.
