llustrated plate taken from 'Anatomy of an Horse' published in 1683 by Andrew Snape, showing a cros-section of the underbelly of a horse and numbered internal organs. Diagrams such as this one were among the first detailed scientific drawings to be made explaining to veterinary scientists the nature and organisation of the horse's bodily functions.
