Advertising card. Private railway companies used 'works grey' photographs to advertise their vehicles and the North British Locomotive Company of Glasgow produced a series of cards carrying images of its locomotives and basic specifications. The 4-8-0 locomotive 'Valente' was built for the Peruvian Government in 1923 for service on a 3 ft gauge mineral line. Potential customers could obtain further details by quoting the order number or the code word 'Argolando'.
