Photograph by the Reverend A H Malan of a Great Western 4-2-2 locomotive speeding past Uphill Junction bound for Penzance. The signalman, leaning from his box, signals with a flag. Malan noted that a train to Weston-Super-Mare had just pased, 'leaving behind a smoky atmosphere', and it is just visible in the distance.
