Three young ladies and the station staff obligingly pose for the Nottingham photographer A W Cox on the newly-completed Kirklington station. The photograph was taken on the instructions of the contractor, John Baylis, who included it in an album recording his firm's role in the construction of the Mansfield to Southwell line. He presented a copy to the Institution of Civil Engineers, explaining how photography could inform and inspire its members.
