Description

Dr Anderson, seen here at the Science Museum, London, designed the succesful male pill and testosterone replacement implant trial at Edinburgh University in 1999 that received media attention. The trial involved the taking of a daily pill which stopped the production of sperm and testosterone. The trialists' testosterone was replaced by an implant as a tablet would have either been destroyed by the stomach (if the dosage was too small) or risked damaging the liver (if the dosage was too large).
