Air raid damage to a room at the Great Western Royal Hotel, Paddington Station, London, 20 February 1944. The Great Western Royal Hotel was designed by Philip Hardwick and was opened on 9 June 1854. It was initially managed by a company made up of Great Western Railway (GWR) shareholders and officers but in 1896 the GWR took direct control. GWR official photograph.
