Photograph by Rusell and Sons, printed in the Illustrated London News (1894), showing Tower Bridge, London. The Bridge was opened by the Prince of Wales in June 1894, and construction is nearing completion in this photograph. The bridge is an example of a bascule bridge, where the central section can be opened drawbridge-style to enable shipping to pas through.
