Description

Illustrated plate taken from 'An Introduction to a General System of Hydrostatics and Hydraulics' (London, 1729) by Stephen Switzer. It describes the proces whereby water evaporates from the oceans, condenses to form clouds, which then produce rain, the water then flowing back into the ocean via rivers, enabling the cycle to begin again.
