The Kodak Profesional Digital Camera System (DCS) consists of a camera back and camera winder fitted to an unmodified Nikon F3 camera, and a separate digital storage unit (DSU) that connects to the camera winder via an interconnect cable. When you make an exposure, the CCD imager records date on a 1280 x 1024 pixel matrix, resulting in the digital images composed of 1.3 million pixels of data. Launched in 1980, the Nikon F3 was at the forefront of profesional automated camera technology.
