Electric powered train, Faversham, 1959. Electric trains were, for most railway photographers, a poor substitute for steam although photographer Patrick Ransome-Wallis produced images of some of the most prosaic vehicles. The Kent Coast Expres, made up of three four-car electric units, also attracted the interest of a group of boys as it pased. Photograph by Patrick Ransome- Wallis.
