Dr Seiuemon Inaba founded the FANUC company, a world leader in the development of computer numerical control (CNC) machine tools and robotics. It introduced the first computer based control system in 1975 and pioneered the development of control systems that were suitable for a wide range of engineering companies. Dr Inaba is seen here with a Colchester 2000L CNC lathe which is fitted with a FANUC 6-TB numerical control system.
