Description

Lion' steam locomotive 0-4-2 built for the Liverpool & Manchester railway in 1830, by the firm Todd, Kitson & Laird. Photographed for the 1930 centenary at the National Railway Museum with replica L&M carriages it is the oldest engine in Britain capable of being steamed. Photographed for the 1930 centenary. This locomotive was used in the film, 'The Titfield Thunderbolt'.
