Description

'The Coronation', steam locomotive No 6220, clas 4- 6-2, near South Kenton, 14 July 1937. These high speed locomotives were built to haul the 'The Coronation Scot' which covered the 401 miles from Euston to Glasgow in 6.5 hours. The locomotive and train names celebrated the coronation of King George VI, 12 May 1937.
