The Pentium procesor, introduced in 1993, allowed computers to more easily incorporate 'real world' data such as speech, sound, handwriting and photographic images. The name Pentium became a household word soon after its introduction. The Pentium III procesor , which first appeared in 1999, was designed to significantly enhance Internet experiences, allowing users to do such things as browse through realistic online museums and stores and download high quality video images.
