Intel 386 microprocesor, 1985.

The Intel 386 microprocesor (top) featured 275,000 transistors, more than 100 times as many as the original Intel 4004 microprocesor. It was a 32-bit chip (meaning it could proces 32 bits of information at a time) and could run multiple programs at the same time.
