Travella', pocket sized iron, 15th February 1954. 'This pocket sized electric iron weighs only one and a half pounds and is housed in a leather case. It is in an exhibit at the Leather Goods Industries Fair, which opened at the Kensington Palace Hotel, London, today. The iron operates at all voltages from 110 to 250 and on either AC or DC mains. It has a dial heat control, allowing temperature to be regulated to suit the textile being ironed. The iron has a special air cooled plastic handle, a steamlined chrome body and a light switch which indicates when the iron is at the correct temperature.'
