Description

Germans Soldiers with a gun called 'Big Bertha', Western Front, WWI. Big Bertha was named after Bertha Krupp the daughter of Friedrich Alfred Krupp the German arms manufacturer and industrialsit. Bertha Krupp married Gustav von Bohlen und Halbach who changed his name to Gustav Krupp. He took over the Krupp empire during the First World War and manufactured the long-range gun, nicknamed Big Bertha, for the shelling of Paris.
