This clock consists of a pewter stand and lamp, the reservoir of which is glas and graduated from 8pm to 7am - to indicate the hours of the night by the quantity of unburnt oil left in the reservoir. The reservoir is egg-shaped and has an equally divided scale over its full length. Nothing approaching accuracy could have been obtained with this lamp.
