Description

Detail. This surgical knife was made by Microsurgical Administrative Services Ltd, Luton, Bedfordshire. In the 1980s, it was discovered that lasers could remove tisue without causing heat damage to the eye. Since then, lasers have largely replaced knives in ophthalmic surgery.
