Description

Engravings from the 'Illustrated London News'. The upper image shows enthusiastic crowds welcoming Mr Neeld MP, who built Chippenham's market hall, on his arrival in the town to open the cheese market, depicted in the lower image. Chippenham was at the heart of one of the most notable cheese-making areas in England.
