Subtitled 'The Leighton brothers depict the end of an era', this image shows old ways of transport being sidelined in favour of the steam locomotive. In the foreground of the image an abandoned carriage can be seen in a farmyard, now being used as a container for straw. The horse that would have pulled the carriage is now redundant and can be seen grazing on the left of the image. Behind them both the steam locomotive that replaced them can be seen pulling a train.
