Description

This lattice girder viaduct, supported by cast iron piers, was designed by Thomas Bouch for the South Durham & Lancashire Union Railway's line between Barnard Castle and Tebay (usually known as the Stainmore Route). The masonry contractor was D P Appleby and the ironwork was by Kennaird & Co. The viaduct, which crosed Deepdale Beck, was 740 foot long and 161 foot high.
